Age 22 on sweaty hands

I work as a baker and have sweaty hands. Enough said. Flour sticks like glue to my hands- you can just imagine the sight! My mates use to give me crap about it. No one really knew how to treat stuff like this in the Sunshine Coast. I started to notice it when I was 19, and it got worse as time went. I had a procedure known as ETS or endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy. I’m pretty stoked with the results. Flour don’t stick no more.

Specialist comment

Palmar hyperhidrosis or sweaty hands can often have a huge impact on work. This condition usually starts in early childhood, and in Aaron’s case, it is somewhat unusual for such a late onset. Mild cases can be treated with antiperspirants such as Driclor, moderate to severe cases can be treated with anti-sweating creams, as well as Iontophoresis. I usually reserve sweat stopping treatments injections to the second last method.  Last line treatment is with ETS surgery (endoscopic thoracic sympatectomy) with a Vascular Surgeon.
